Kathleen Bowen Joins Impact Public Affairs
Latest Addition to Team Adds Two Decades of State and Local Government Experience
Atlanta, GA – Impact Public Affairs announced today that Kathleen Bowen will bring over two decades of experience with federal, state and local government leaders to the firm. She will join the Impact team as Director of Government Relations, with responsibilities for leading client work on a range of issues before the Georgia General Assembly, stage agencies and local governments.
“After 17 years advocating on behalf of Georgia’s 159 county governments, Impact Public Affairs stood out to me as a place where I could bring my experience navigating a range of highly complex policy issues to bear on behalf of the firm’s clients. I look forward to joining the Impact team in delivering strong results for our clients to the benefit of Georgia businesses and communities,” said Bowen.
Prior to joining Impact, Kathleen served in a lead lobbying role for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). During her 17 year tenure at ACCG, she served in various capacities that included being a member of the ACCG governmental affairs team responsible for public policy in the areas of transportation, economic development, natural resources and the environment as well as federal policy issues. Preceding her government affairs role, Kathleen held the position of Deputy Director of Executive Appointments and Intergovernmental Affairs Liaison in the Office of Governor Sonny Perdue, with direct responsibility for managing board appointments and local government relationships for the Office of the Governor. Before joining the Governor’s office, she served on staff in the office of U.S. House of Representatives Congressman Terry Everett (AL-2) in his Washington, D.C. office.
“The results our clients expect can only be delivered by team members with deep experience across government and a proven track record of solving some of the most complex problems facing the public sector. In Kathleen, we are thrilled to have found a new team member who employs the same low-key, results driven, consensus building approach to public affairs work that is the hallmark of our firm,” said Impact Partner John Watson.
Impact Public Affairs has one of the largest and most experienced teams in Georgia. The Atlanta Journal Constitution wrote that the firm “brings together some of the most influential people in state politics.” The Impact team of nine bipartisan senior principals currently provides a diverse range of government relations, business development, strategic consulting and public relations services to a long list of clients, including over 25 members of the Fortune 500.
